5.0 out of 5 stars A Worthwile Purchase and a Good Series ! 4 April 2011

I don't know if it was because Series 1 was like warming-up your car on a cold day but I definately found Series 2 much better than the first although I noticed that there was an actor change Terence Alexander to Tim Barrett playing the part of Terrys boss Malcolm and I personally prefer the former. That aside the series was very good and you can see the bonding of the two leads already beginning to form.Well worth its rating in my book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Terry and June 2 6 April 2011
Terry Scott and June Whitfield star in this second series of "Terry and June".
This is an entertaining bit of farcical comedy that has a lot to offer.

This second series was recorded in 1980. It continues from the first series as Terry and June are now settled in their new house. There are six very good episodes and an extra bonus Christmas special episode.

Terry gets a new car, but then it goes missing in the first episode. There is a funny second episode where Terry gets in a terrible mess when he gets his secretary to organise a surprise present of a ring for June. There is more farce in episode three when Terry's Nephew Alan comes to stay which leads to both Terry and June getting in trouble with the Police. The couple take up Disco Dancing in episode four and June gets a job which leaves Terry to cope with all the things he took her for granted for in episode five and there is classic comedic moments in the last episode when June takes up the Cello, much to Terry's frustration. The Christmas special is also a good episode. Just like all the episodes this one has a story that is easy to guess how it will develop, but it has classic farce elements as Terry helps a friend by hiding a Christmas present of a fur coat. June convinces Terry to only spend 5 on Christmas presents but then accidentally discovers the fur coat and excitedly thinks it for her.

At the time of its transmission, and for all of the other eight series, Terry and June was often mocked and scoffed at. It was criticised by some people as being too corny and old fashioned. It was traditional comedy and not "alternative". Other people loved it. I really liked it back then and have even more respect for it now.
