Product Description

Terry Bozzio is a Californian drummer and received a music scholarship from the Sir Francis Drake High School in 1969. He achieved notoriety whilst touring with Frank Zappa, and later with British rock supergroup UK. He was particularly famous for performing Zappa's "The Black Page", a piece of music designed to be a "musician's nightmare", as the page was so filled with notes that it appeared to be almost black. Filmed in the hills of Austin, TX at the One World Theatre, this DVD brings Terry Bozzio together with Chris Maresh, Stephen Barber and the world famous Tosca Strings. Since 1997 The Tosca Strings Quartet (Leigh Mahoney & Tracy Seeger - Violins, Ames Asbell - Viola and Sara Nelson - Cello) has built an international reputation for their versatile performances of many various musical styles. Their dynamic interaction on stage has become a trademark of their live music performances. Extras: Candid Interview with Terry Time lapse of Terry's enormous kit being set up 3 Bonus Songs

I bought this as a birthday present for a friend. Don't know mr. Bozzio myself; not my kind of music. But according to my friend, the dvd is very enjoyable. He was enthousiastic about it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Pityful audio quality 13 Aug 2010
I love Terry Bozzio ever since I heard him perform the music of Frank Zappa. Modern 'classical' music appeals to me too. Unfortunately the Amazon website (or any other I could find) did not provide information about the available audio formats on this DVD. Trusting that good musicians would ensure their music could be played in decent quality (and hoping for the best) I bought it anyway. ... Only to find out that the only available audio format is Dolby 2.0. Pardon my French, but that really sucks.

What a great DVD! My only complaint is that I wasn't at the show. Terry Bozzio's fantastic playing with a incredible string group is so great that words cant describe it. It must be seen to be believed.
5.0 out of 5 stars A Riveting and Spellbinding Ride! 12 Nov 2011

Hang on tight, this is a full body and mind dive into diverse melodic and rhythmic music! Percussion, keyboards, strings, electric and stand-up bass all combine for a tasty melange that is better experienced than described! If you like fusion, rock, jazz, classical, tango, or all the above, then you'll find something to enjoy hear ;D Top notch playing and creativity all around! Great bonus features too, including much extra music. All together an awesome bunch of music!
