This is the first book, by Tom Bale, that I have read but it certainly will not be the last. A recommendation led me to this author, and what a pleasant surprise.
A refreshing change to all the usual stuff that so many authors spew out.
Detailed and researched, the plot keeps you guessing and double guessing to the very end.. left in a way that the author can write another instalment about the main character..hopefully.

Having read the first two Tom Bale books I feel there is an author that is either trying to popularise Sussex as the action County of England or he is wanting to write an International action story but cannot decide where. I don't think Sussex is where the stories should be set as it is assuming that outside the area of story the world comes to a standstill. The latest "Terror's Reach" is just too over the top for a so called expensive retreat just off the coast and too much going on not to attract the attention of someone. I think his 'Joe' character has plenty of scope for development but with a more controlled storyline and not constrained to Sussex. Two novels in, lots of potential but just that at present. Let's see what his latest holds.

This is Tom Bale's (aka David Harrison) third novel. Having read them in order I can see he is developing his skills at great speed. `Sins of the Father' was good followed by `Skin and Bones' which was even better.
`Terror's Reach' is better still. Even if it had not been placed in settings I could easily identify, this would have been a rivetting good read. I lead a busy life, but even so, I managed to read the 357 pages in three sittings - just didn't want to put it down. It is full of action from page one and the pace doesn't let up for a moment.
The lead character, Joe Clayton, a bodyguard for a rich man's wife and children, has secrets of his own; hints of which are threaded through the narrative. The final page leads the Reader to anticipate a sequel - I do hope this is the case.
It is unfair to discuss details of the story itself. GIVE YOURSELF A TREAT - read `Terror's Reach' for yourself.

Terrors Reach
Bought as a christmas present for my Dad, so cannot comment whether its an enjoyable book or not. As far as service goes, I received an extremely prompt delivery on this item.
