Although he didn't know it at the time, Doyle's journey began in 1993, with an assignment to report on the bombing of the World Trade Center in New York. That experience led him to abandon his job as an online news editor in favour of investigating al-Qaeda, as a freelance operator.

4.0 out of 5 stars an intriguing read..., 31 Dec 2004
By D. Ackerley (Chester, England) - See all my reviews
I got through this book at a quick flowing pace.
It sets a background behind present day world trouble, with the author initially being around as a technical journalist as the seeds to present day global terrorism were sown.
We are brought up to date with insights into the activities of people considered extremists in the UK and the use of the World Wide Web on various fronts.
There is a chronology of events arount 9/11 that doesn't slip down the slope of conspiricy theories.
Well researched from good material and human sources giving the reader a good insight as to how things are and a good grounding should they wish to look further...

5.0 out of 5 stars Terror Tracker -Al Qaeda exposed, 26 Jul 2005
By A Customer
Neil Doyle's book Terror Tracker is an outstanding piece of research and investigative of journalism that exposes the workings of Al Qaeda. Doyle describes how he was twice able to locate the whereabouts of Osma bin Laden and writes about his role in the downfall of Abu Hamza? To show just how good this book is I have listed below some of the comments made by various newspapers. It is very rare that newspapers write such glowing comments.

'Neil Doyle has pioneered a new and vital form of internet-based investigative journalism which has enabled him to penetrate the dark heart of online fundamentalism.'
Sunday Times

'Chilling evidence of Abu Hamza's murderous plans for the UK'
Daily Mail

'A female suicide bomber targeted Prince Charles...The plot is revealed in new book Terror Tracker by Neil Doyle.'
The Sun

'Neil Doyle is probably the finest investigative reporter specialising in international terrorism, and covert anti-terrorist operations, working in Britain today.'
Daily Star

'Chilling...This is a gripping look at the greatest threat to international stability since the Cold War.'
The Herald (Glasgow)

'Neil has proved himself to be a vigorous and determined investigator in this complex world.'
Sunday Express

'Account of a journalist's investigation of the internal workings of Al Qaeda and international terrorism. The three year investigation led to the arrest of the London-based cleric Abu Hamza.'
Foreign & Commonwealth Office

'In his book, Terror Tracker, he tells how his investigations on the internet finally led to terrorist suspect Abu Hamza's arrest in Britain.'
BBC

'Neil Doyle is the finest investigator of the shady world of terror we have today. He is an inspiration.'
Daily Star Sunday

'I suggest Doyle sends a copy of his forthcoming book, Terror Tracker, to MI5.'
Sue Carroll, Daily Mirror

'evidence which may link [Hamza] to planning for the September 11 attacks'
Sunday Express

'Neil Doyle is a cyber-terrorist buster.'
Mark Phillips, CBS Evening News

'Astonishing discoveries...
formidable contacts...extraordinary'
Tom Wells, Sunday Mercury

'Read Terror Tracker and you'll find out just what an investigative hack can do...An uncomfortably worrying book. ****'
Lads Mag

'Mr Doyle could well be described as one of a new breed of cyberjournalist'
The Washington Times

'Reveals many astonishing truths.'
Unilibro.it

'on the inside'
Larry Kudlow, CNBC
