I completely disagree with the negative reviews posted here, and would rate this as THE best horror guide on the market (In my opinion this is far superior to John Stanley's more recent, yet stageringly overrated 'Creature Features' guide). This book only covers up to 1993/94, but it's wonderfully extensive, and the reviews far from biased. Naturally one man's masterpiece is another's turkey, but I find myself largely in agreement with Mr. O'Neill's ratings (unlike Stanley's - a man for expample, who rates 'Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome' higher than the original, and 'Scanners II: The New Order' on a par with the Cronenberg classic...believe me it get worse.). Not only that but the capsule reveiws here are informative and constructive as opposed to mere summarisations of plot. Trust me this is a superb companion, even for fans of slasher films and especially for those looking off the beaten track for 70's & 80's treasures. I've discovered lots of forgotten gems by reading this book, and highly recommend it.
