It is daft and, indeed more importantly to yourself an auditory disservice, to cynically dismiss music made by Hollywood film stars as a gimmicky novelty not fit to be taken seriously. Sure Juliette Lewis uses her acting flare and skills to 'ham' her stage persona up quite a bit, but its all tongue in cheek and complements her style of rock/punk/blues offerings thus giving the audience 'a show to watch' as opposed to a motionless boring songstress. She is very different on stage to the Hollywood archetype, with a punky, gaunt with little make-up look, with no discernible effort of prettification, a dress code mixing grunge with glam rock, and using her incredibly thin frame to contort into almost 'rubber-man' postures.

And her music? Whilst not quite up there yet with the world's very best, is not far away and whether doing punk, rockers, or blues bashers, is performed in a shameless vamping, screaming and at times crooning fashion that doesn't ask to be taken too seriously and encourages the audience to have fun and enjoy.

This is a very good and versatile album with consistently good tracks with my stand-outs being the classic rock throwback "Hard Lovin' Woman", and the country-rock "Uh Huh".

Whatever 'tag' you choose to pin on her, will not detract from Juliette Lewis being a darn good 'rabble-rousing' singer who can very nearly stand alongside the best of them and in the near future most probably will be.

I have only ever known Juliette as a one of a kind actress but after hearing the album I am sure she will have a bright future in music, although it may be a hard task shaking off the actor-to-singer tag unfortunately! Juliette has an exceptional voice, she has a very powerful and emotive voice which really gets my core, she has a wonderful grit to her voice similar to that of Janis Joplin at times but Juliette has many shades to her voice which all really surprised me. My top tracks would have to be 'All Is For God', 'Terra Incognita', 'Junkyard Heart', 'Ghosts' which are all EPIC! but seriously the whole album is bubbling with classic tunes. I am even confident enough to say this is probably my favourite album this year thus far and that is something I never expected to think...:o This album crosses many genres, rock, pop, blues.... and Juliette proves she can deal with them all with ease, hopefully she'll make more music, she's found herself a fan in me.

Most actors turn to singing when they're acting career isn't going to plan - and that doesn't mean they can sing either. This is not the case with Juliette Lewis. Not only is she a successful actress but she is a great singer and her talent just goes from strength to strength. Good, solid, fast paced rock and roll! You need to own this album.

I was always a fan of Juliette Lewis's music she did with The Licks and so just had to get this album when it came out! It has a very rock / punk feel to it and is just a fun album to have. Definitely a must have if you are a fan of her earlier stuff or just want to try something new!!

Having not heard much of Juliette and the Licks when they first came around I wasn't sure what to expect from this album. But Juliette Lewis is an amazing singer/songwriter and you can really feel her energy coming through the speakers. The lead single, "Fantasy Bar" is fast becoming a favorite tune of mine. She's not afraid to try something new and whilst it might not be to everyone taste at least she's got the guts to go for it! More edgier than any thing I've heard from her time with the Licks. Definetly worth a listen if your looking for something new!

To be honest, before i heard this album i wasnt a huge Juliette Lewis fan, and this album probably wouldnt change my opinion. If you love this kind of punky music then i expect you will love this album! A friend recommended that i check this band out ages ago so i decided to pick up their latest effort. Juliette Lewis' voice stands out, even though some of the music rather bland, her voice is distinctive and in the most part billiant. Best tracks : Fantasy Bar and All is for God.
