Gripping and exciting.,

Like the film that this precedes, From the Ashes is great fun. The writing is vigorous and coherent, and the action scenes are well described. It's also cool to read about Kyle Reese surviving without the aid of the resistance, and to see early glimpses of the hero we all know he becomes (it's interesting that his protective attitude towards Star parallels the one he develops with Sarah).If you're a Terminator fan, you'll love it, and probably give it repeated readings.

Judgement Day has happen and mankind is on the run from Skynet. But John Connor is leading his brave men and women against Skynet. People who are willing to give up their lives in a battle that may determined if mankind survives."From the Ashes" is the official movie prequel book to the movie "Terminator Salvation" This is was a great book written by Timothy Zahn it had a lot of action that leaves the reader waiting for movie that is forthcoming. This book is really great and I can't wait for the movie!!

Being a huge fan of the terminator franchise I could not wait for this book.So when I got around to reading it that night I was heartbroken as it was total rubbish. The Book is advertised as the prequel to the upcoming film and on that front it delivers. Telling the story so far of John Connor and his resistance team existing, fighting and surviving in the post apocalyptic world, the book lives up to its name but as far as the way it is written and background story of the other characters surviving in the world of the machines needed a lot more work. The writer did not keep suspense at any point and seemed to take ages describing seemingly useless and uninteresting points. The only reason I finished this book is because I paid for it and hung onto hope that the plot may deliver something of any interest. I have never read a book before that I could not wait to finish so I could get started on another. Ultimately I feel that the concept and story were there but the writer did not deliver the goods. If I were you I would stay away and just wait for the film.
