The Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines video game storyline will weave in and out of the movie script as players face enemies from the present in which the War of the Machines looms on the horizon, to the apocalyptic future where the War itself is waged on all fronts. Unlike many others, I enjoyed the third Terminator film and was looking forward to playing the game. A fantastic demo starts the game with an extension of the film's storyline; this is a stunning sight, with great energy and amazing graphics, and then you play the game.......The controls are terrible, the action is repetitive and even the sound effects are annoying. Included on the disc is a demo of the next game titled 'Terminator 3: Redemption'. This has all the same flaws, the graphics are brilliant, but the gameplay is missing. If you are on the lookout for a great first person shooter, save your money for a copy of Halo.

I completed this game after 2hours 30mins(shorter than the movie,The graphics are okish,you see more footage than you do playing the game.The fight scenes are laughable.slow and sluggish,why this has a high rating is beyond me.If you like the movie buy the dvd you will have more fun!!!trust me do not shell outŁ40 for it.

Well I must say I was pleasently surprised with this game. I seem to recall that most of the reviews by professional reviewers in games magazines upon it's release giving it very low-medium scores at best. I think this was a little bit harsh because it is a very early original Xbox title (2003)and it's biggest flaw is, to me, giving the player a restricted number of lives before having to start the level all over again (most of the levels are not too big though). Character animations are also wonky too like, in one mission when you have to protect John Connor, why does John walk like normal when he's being shot at by a SWAT team!?! Also the T-X is far too easy to beat even on medium difficulty (haven't tried hard as of yet).
However I'm starting to make this sound like a disaster. It's not a complete one even though some of the enemy Terminators do walk like Barbie dolls. There is loads of fun what with levels set around events not only from the film but also events that are supposed to happen in the future. In one level you even get to play as the bad Terminator from the first film. There are loads of extras to unlock what with two Atari games, making of programmes about the film, game, pre-production on film/game too, demo for Terminator: Redemption game etc.
This is more than a bargain!

Not Bad!!!
