Title: Terminated
Series: Revivalist (#3)
Author: Rachel Caine

I love Rachel Caine's series (Morganville Vampires, Revivalist, etc.) and for good reasons. She has kick ass characters, sweet romances that I adore, and action-packed scenes. Terminated was the same and it was possibly the best in the Revivalist series.

Bryn is facing horrifying effects from her new upgrades with a need for meat in order to keep her body functioning; she is basically a flesh-eating zombie. She's trying so hard to hang on to her humanity, to see past the twists and turns that her life has taken, and refrain from becoming a monster. Bryn, Patrick, Joe, Pansy, and Manny have joined together (although somewhat reluctantly) to stop Jane and those who plan to launch Returné as a military upgrade. This is their last chance and all the stops are being pulled out.

The plot flows quite quickly with lots of fight scenes, hand-to-hand combat, and even a few bombs. The "spy" and "covert" feeling to this book adds to the whole atmosphere of the story and I could feel the tension and the urgency in everybody's actions. Terminated was more gruesome than I remember the other two being, but it worked, making everything more gritty in a way that I liked. In Terminated everybody made hard choices to stop the spread of Returné and the consequences and severity of the situation completely came to life.

Amid the fighting and tension were Bryn and Patrick. Their relationship is a bit rocky in the beginning - Bryn doesn't know how to feel about everything to do with Jane - and I don't blame her. She was tortured by this woman and comes out to find out that Jane was married to the man she loves.

This took me a while to read because it had been about 18 months between book 1 and 2 and this. I'd forgotten half of what happened (and that Manny and Pansy were in this from the author's Red Letter Days series) and I found it a little difficult to remember.

However, once I got so far in the book (about 80 pgs in) the storyline was moving so fast that I had little choice but to go with it and it didn't particularly matter if I remembered or not, I just wanted Bryn, Patrick and the gang to kick Jane, Pharmadene and the Fountain Groups arse.

It was almost non-stop from the start, being thrown straight into the story from where it left off from the last book. We had fire-fights, fist fights, various other fights, explosions, deaths, you name it, it was probably in here.

The ending seemed a bit too easily done for my liking. I was expecting more...I dunno, just MORE of something; more explosions, deaths, trouble.

BUT, since they all got out of it alive (more or less) I'm happy with it.

The best in the Series, I would say. Fast paced and full of action. this book will not disappoint . I wasn't sure if I'd stick with this series, after 'The Morganville Vampires' - as it felt a bit empty , after all the Characters and plots (read them twice - took a while but always like to read certain books over, as you always get something new, that maybe u missed - a bit like a security blanket :) You get to know the Characters a little more, reading between the lines and how Rachel Caine plots and twists the storylines. Well done R.C. Will look forward to choosing another new Series to quench my thirst :)..........enjoy all ..

people would have to read the first two books to understand this one i dont want to give anything away but there was a nice twist which under the circumstances has to happen for lovers of rachels books this is definately up there with the best of them but obviously read the first two before this one although far fetched in places well rachel is known for this and the 3 books do not dissapoint therefore i would definately say to people read the 3 revivalist books you will not be dissapointed
