5.0 out of 5 stars Great book 11 Jun 2014
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
The best in the Series, I would say. Fast paced and full of action. this book will not disappoint . I wasn't sure if I'd stick with this series, after 'The Morganville Vampires' - as it felt a bit empty , after all the Characters and plots (read them twice - took a while but always like to read certain books over, as you always get something new, that maybe u missed - a bit like a security blanket :) You get to know the Characters a little more, reading between the lines and how Rachel Caine plots and twists the storylines. Well done R.C. Will look forward to choosing another new Series to quench my thirst :)..........enjoy all ..

4.0 out of 5 stars We all knew it was coming.... 18 April 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I good round up of this trilogy. The story was nicely paced and ticked along at a fair old rate, whilst fleshing out some of the smaller characters.

It started off as an interesting concept and although I'm not sure the trilogy reached epic proportions, it was original and the concepts were nice to elaborate upon.
I'd equate it to a YA 'matrix -esque' novel that introduces concepts of how society is sleepwalking into slavery, but in a way which tracks the story, enables a suitable conclusion and allows you to process some of the underlying themes at a latter stage....

I liked it - but for me to "love it" I think I would need for Rachel Caine to have gone "darker" ..... That being said I'm probably older than her average reader and it is pitched well for the YA audience -

Personally, I always appreciate a good bit of Caine fluff especially her oddball characters - so dig in....
