Terminal Earth has the honour of being my first Kindle purchase and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I was surprised at how diverse the types of stories were considering the unifying theme. Covered so many genres, styles, scales and tone that you don't have to be into apocalyptic tales in particular to enjoy them.

Stand out stories for me were Tattoo and Pa's Worm Farm, really thought provoking, imaginative and left me wanting more. There were 3 I didn't like but that leaves 20 I did which is a good hit rate in my book.

Highly recommended!

Hooked . . . . 22 Feb 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
. . . from start to finish.
This isn't my favourite genre, either. I wanted to like it because a dear friend of mine is one of the authors, and like it I did.
The stories are genuinely interesting and the characters so real. Of the twenty three stories I can honestly say that there was only one that I really didn't enjoy, and another couple that were clearly weaker than the rest. That's pretty good going by anyone's standards.
Some stories are strangely uplifting considering the subject matter, others sad. There is even a good laugh or two along the way. The variety of pace and content, however, means that you don't dwell on any one emotion for too long :-)
I thoroughly recommend this book. It has opened my eyes to a genre I would never have previously considered.

Awesome 11 Feb 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
I am a big fan of short stories and really enjoyed this, more than almost any other short story collection I've ever read!

A lot of genres are covered, and the subject matter, the end of the earth, brings them all together into an amazing collection. A few slower paced stories that I wouldn't normally have read just fit so well that I enjoyed them almost as much as the faster paced ones, the pacing was near perfect. The characters throughout were all interesting in different ways, and fit their stories perfectly.

I never normally write reviews, but really, you should buy this, read it, then go back to the beginning and read it again, you honestly won't regret it, it's awesome - my new favourite book.
