Late in 1998, two of the soon-to-be biggest trance producers in the world (Ferry Corsten and Tiesto) joined forces under the Gouryella alias. They would eventually released three singles together before rumoured creative differences put an end to the partnership. Gouryella's debut in 1999 was arguably the finest trance tune ever made: the self-titled "Gouryella". Later that year the beautiful "Walhalla" followed. In 2000, "Tenshi" was released and this pulsating classic was to be the last true Gouryella single, although in 2003 Ferry Corsten released "Ligaya" under the Gouryella moniker (without Tiesto's input).
There is something wondrous about "Tenshi". I have never heard anything quite like it since its release in 2000. The Transa Remix is undoubtedly everybody's favourite. It has striking sirens going off in the background as well as a more other-worldly vibe in the acoustics. The beats are simply rock hard and the electronic synths are marvellously hypnotic, drawing the listener in the music and never letting go throughout its 7 minute duration.
This is CD2 of a two CD set, and is the only Gouryella single to follow this official release format. CD1 contains three tracks: the Radio Edit, the Original Mix and a remix from Mark Moon. Both CDs are fantastic in their own right although CD2 is considerably more expensive to obtain.

Tenshi trance-forms Transa-tlantic fans 2 Mar. 2001
By Rajeev Solomon - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
Tenshi is Gouryella's (Tiësto/Ferry Corsten) second release after the self-titled "Gouryella". CD2 features: The radio edit, Transa remix, and Ronald Klinkenberg remix. The radio edit is short and features the trademark Ferry Corsten sound, reminiscent of the earlier single, Gouryella. The Transa remix takes off where the radio edit left off: soaring synths, complex interweaving melodies, thumping beats, and is satisfyingly long. The Klinkenberg remix sounds more like the original radio edit, and has little new to offer, in terms of another interpretation of Ferry's work. Perhaps Klinkenberg did not want to deviate from the tried and tested Ferry formula. Since the single has not been released in the US, $12 to pay for a single, which has only 3 mixes, seems a little too steep for most budget conscious trance fans. I wish they had included more mixes (an Armin mix, for example) in this release, to justify the price. Overall, very good music.
A New Trance Classic! 21 May 2001

Melodic and energetic, if you like 'out of the blue' (system F w/Corsten) and other gouryella songs, you'll love this.
