This nicely written book gives an interesting, concise account of Tenerife's history and develops it into the culture of the island itself and its people.
Tourism, as the islands' main industry, also has its place. There are good accounts of the main resorts at Playa las Americas and Los Christianos as well as some smaller, slightly quieter, resorts which some may find attractive.
I would recommend this for anyone who wants more from their holiday than sun, sea and sangria. Tenerife is a lovely island. Brian and Eileen Anderson fully do it justice in this book while keeping the style nice and light.
