I am a massive counting Crows fan and bought this of the back of reviews and the fact that I wanted to hear how some of the songs Counting Crows have covered sounded in their origional form. The thing that sets Counting Crows apart is the passion and power within the songs, this has none of that. The vocals are very flat and the range is not great. Some of the songs are good but I always felt like something was missing. This is a very average album.

An influential band in the early 90's around San Francisco, and whilst they never released an album at the time, they did see various members go on to bigger things, including several from Counting Crows. So twenty years later and a case of unfinished business for Crows guitarist Dan Vickrey, who also brings drummer Jim Bogios, for this reunion with local legend Patrick Winningham. It was certainly worth the wait, as finally, after all these years, their songs see the light of day. It's a more than decent Americana album. The standout tunes for me are 'Four White Stallions', 'Wiseblood' and 'Mercy'. It's also good to hear Dan Vickrey's lead guitar, away from his day job as one of three guitarist's in Counting Crows, and mighty fine playing it is too. I do wonder though, how it is that no-one picked up this band back in the day?
