Product Description

Product Description

To build a network at home or office with minimum effort and cost, the Tenda 200Mbps Powerline Adapter P200 is your choice. In many cases, Ethernet is just not available in places where network connectivity is needed. However, almost every room at home or office has power circuitry, which can be used to extend network connections from your broadband router. Simply plug one P200 that links to a broadband modem/router into the power outlet in one room, and plug another P200 linking to a PC or any Ethernet device in the other, you can then easily and instantly create a powerline network of up to 200Mbps, 2X of a traditional switch or router, with the driving capability of up to 300 meters, 3X of Ethernet cable. Plus the QoS feature prioritizes your bandwidth intensive applications for lag-free experience.

Product Description

A homeplug is a simple way of creating a network within a home or business by using the existing electrical wiring. To create a network you will need to use 2 or more homeplugs. The more homeplugs you use the more rooms you can connect to. They are a great alternative to wireless routers where the signal becomes weaker the further away you get, or you do not want to have unsightly cables.

3.0 out of 5 stars Easy to install but slow to use 4 Mar 2014

As with other Powerline adaptors, these Tenda plugs simply plug into a wall socket or extension and let your mains wires act as the equivalent of an Ethernet cable, allowing you to have a physical internet connection wherever there is a plug socket in your house.

This device is a lot smaller than some on the market, which may appeal to those with sockets in small areas, and the light up display is clearly labelled and easy to read. Build quality isn't all that great, but as long as they are not constantly moved I can't see this being an issue.

The Powerline standard means that these work with all other 200Mbps and 500Mpbs Powerline kits and they worked straight away with my TP-Link kit. Setup and linking took less than 5 minutes and was hassle free.

The only issue with these is that they seem to be slower than my equivalent TP-Link adaptors which should be the same speed. I've used them in the same wall sockets but for some reason they're just not as fast. It's not a huge issue if you're just using them to stream standard movie content or music, but if you do need the extra speed it's worth noting. For now, though, I'll stick to TP-Link adaptors.

5.0 out of 5 stars Literally Plug & Play 16 April 2014

Opened the box and plugged in the adapters. One on the top floor of my three bedroom house and the other next to the router. Connected the supplied network cables and suddenly I no longer get the same connectivity issues I had when my PS3 was trying to use wireless.

I have also connected them to other home power line adapters supplied with my BT Vision box and have had no problems at all.

Recommended.

3.0 out of 5 stars Just Okay 25 Feb 2014

Sadly, this just isn't very good. I've reviewed things like this before and usually powerline adapters are very useful, easy-to-use and fairly cheap. This, however, is just too cheap and it shows.

I'd suggested paying a little more for something a lot better.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worked well 8 Mar 2014

Straight out of the box these adapters look good and are very aesthetically pleasing. They are fairly unobtrusive when plugged in, installation is a breeze and they were up and running in no time. They could be used by someone with very little Technological expertise. They work well but may struggle in very large houses. I live in a standard size house and they worked well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent product at super price. 24 April 2014

Although Tenda are not a household name in the network arena, this product works as well as any other powerline product I have purchased. (Tenda not to be confused with Trendnet).

This is the third powerline product I have connected to my network proving that compatibility isn't an issue. Although I prefer the 3 network multi socket powerline, Tenda are not to be overlooked with this excellent product ata superb price. Would certainly recommend.

Great. Easy to set up and install. Definitely gave some extended range. Ideally suited to a small network/business I would say. At home, maybe another router would suffice.

4.0 out of 5 stars Tenda Powerline 15 April 2014
By Sanjay TOP 1000 REVIEWER VINE VOICE
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
I’m currently an avid fan of using powerline adapters for my home network. I’ve found wireless connections to be too unreliable and generally unnecessary for static items such as BD players, music players, TVs, game consoles etc.

All of my adapters are from TP Link and I’ve found them to be utterly reliable. This one is the latest offering from Tenda and has a 200mbps transfer rate.

I would consider 200mbps the minimum required to achieve respectable transfer speeds across a home network (remembering that you may have multiple devices working at the same time)

First impressions were excellent as these are much much smaller than any other model I’ve used. Even smaller than the TP-link 600mb adapters. They also look quite modern.
Set-up is simply plug & play.. no buttons were pressed.

Over my power lines (which are across 2 consumer units) I was achieving around 150mbps using the TP LinkAV200 adapters. I can confirm these performed at the same speed across my complex electricity network as my other TP Link devices; around 140mbit/s

Overall this is a good product however, I wouldn’t necessarily advise anyone to buy this particular one as similar devices from other manufactures (which use the same internals) are available for less.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Product 9 April 2014

I was having a lot of difficulty with my sky broadband.
I had bought a box from sky to wirelessly transmit my broadband signal into my sky box as my broadband box is not close to my sky box
It was always failing
I used a set of these little boxes to transmit the signal via my house wiring and I had a direct connection all of a sudden.
What a great product
Now I have an excellent wired connection to get faster downloads onto my sky box for on demand programs.
Highly recommended and really easy to set up
