5.0 out of 5 stars Delightful 25 July 2006
Format:Hardcover
This book has been totally lapped up by my 8 month old. He grasps the 3d tadpoles and gets extremely excited by the final surprise pop-up page which shows the tadpoles' tranformation into frogs. The pop-up opens out to make a croaking sound effect simply from the cut of .

Absolutely brilliant, colourful, fun and a simple learning tool for counting. I highly recommend it for young children - but be careful of the paper - it's not a board book.

4.0 out of 5 stars An Exciting & Educational read! 1 Jan 2010
By Mr. William Oxley VINE™ VOICE
Format:Hardcover
The book is both fun to read and educational at the same time, teaching your child the essential basics of the numbers 1 to 10. Whilst you read the child can feel the tadpoles that stick out from the page - with bright smiley faces!

Great for children from 18 months to 4 years old. Any older and they will whizz through it too quickly and be moving on to something a bit more challenging.

The book starts off with 10 tiny tadpoles and as each page is turned one tiny tadpole disappears. Each page has a short rhythm that leads into the next page.

So the book starts "Ten tiny radpoles wriggling in a line, one went chasing dragonflies so that left..." and you turn over the page to reveal the next sentence that starts with "Nine...".

PLUS there is a surprise on the final page with all ten tadpoles having changed into frogs, and in a pop-out format. My little girls face was an absolute joy when she turned the final page.

The only downside is the price when compared to the other books in the series eg Ten Little Ladybugs that have been discounted. But we received this as a gift and were very happy.
