5.0 out of 5 stars Girls just wanna have fun 1 Nov 2012
Format:Audio CD
If i had to pick one person who epitomized the indie ethic/sound of the late 80's/early 90's it would be Amelia Fletcher and she's still producing work of a very high standard in Tender Trap (with some excellent helpers too!!).
This is their 4th album and their best yet. It's more upbeat (in a mildly rocky sense) than earlier albums and is a treat from start to finish. It opens with "train from King's Cross Station" including a suitable train intro before it bursts forth with a great guitar riff (also chuggingly train-like) before ending with another train outro...marvelous stuff. The rest of the album is equally catchy and joyous, especially "broken doll", and is filled with lovely harmonies throughout including the great "he's such a jerk" backing on "MBV". The one minor gripe/uncertainty would be "step one" which although it's funny & cute seemed somewhat out of place?.
Still 9 out of 10 isn't bad.
Beyond cute artwork too.
