More About the Author

Robert Wood has been a researcher, an academic and a business psychologist. Whatever he has written he has enjoyed doing, perhaps especially the three novels comprising the Moving Deckchairs trilogy. Mackem Mayhem is an autobiography about growing up in the North East and incidentally about a stint in Jamaica. In the late Sixties and early Seventies he attended the University of Chicago, living in an apartment just down the road from where Barack Obama would grow up. Taking off in the summer was imperative but with Illinois plates marked 'Land of Lincoln' was it a good idea to take a trip down south to places like Chattanooga? Imagine the reception. Then there were the 'dry' one-horse towns where the one horse left last night and where prohibition hadn't ended, never mind the Civil War. But he and his family survived and having written the technical stuff (his first book appeared when he was 27) and his memoir and his novels and his short stories he now writes walking books.
