This is a wonderful book about a girl and her relationship with her turbulent family. The book begins when she is a very young girl and her family is forced to move from Detriot to Canada. It follows her as she grows from a young girl to a young woman, and plots the changes in her and those around her as she hurtles towards adulthood. The book is beautifully written, and at times manages to be both painfully sad, and acerbically funny. An original read, and one highly recommended.
