Firstly I am a HUGE Temptations fan so I was really looking forward to hearing the only autobiography from a group member. But i have to say I was quite dissapointed in Otis' book.I really think Otis portrayed eddie, david & paul quite badly. He appears to be quite bitter most of the time when he talks about any of them and chooses to focus on their bad qualities rather than the good.also i'm suspicious about the factual content of the book as otis is very vague about dates and times.and for example,in the pictures section he refers to a picture of paul with his wife as 'paul with a friend'.it makes you think that if he was as close to the others as he claimed then he would know a simple fact as pauls wife.also since this is the updated edition otis' adds a chapter at the end in which he changes a few statements he made in the past because he didnt think he could be truthful because the other guys were alive but it seems suspect to change his views only after eddie & david cant defend themselves.the whole tone of the book didnt feel right to me & as a fan of the classic five i felt sorry for eddie, paul & david as otis was always portrayed as the good guy in the group.i really wish the other guys could have written their side of the story as i have a sneaking suspicion that it would turn out very differently from otis' version.i would recommend this book to temptations fans because some parts of the book are sweet/funny i.e. paul & eddies close friendship & it is nice to hear about the different guys personalities but i would take it all in with a grain of salt as i dont think otis' account is all that valid.

For us white kids who loved the music of Motown, this book gives a look into a lot of the goings on behind the scenes that we never heard about then. Lots of good photos. For all those who miss those more innocent times and lyrics.
