CD Description

· NEW REMASTERED EDITION OF THE CLASSIC DEBUT ALBUM BY JON HISEMAN's TEMPEST
· BOOKLET WITH FULLY RESTORED ARTWORK

Esoteric Recordings are pleased to announce the release of a newly remastered edition of the debut album by TEMPEST, the group formed in 1972 by Colosseum drummer JON HISEMAN. Upon the demise of Hiseman's previous group he formed the muscular outfit Tempest with Colosseum bassist MARK CLARKE, guitarist ALLAN HOLDSWORTH and Vocalist and Keyboard player PAUL WILLIAMS.

The band's debut album, originally released by Bronze Records in 1973, was a fine work and featured exemplary musicianship from the quartet.

This Esoteric Recordings edition has been newly re-mastered and restores the albums original elaborate artwork

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Holdsworth Album 16 Feb 2013
Verified Purchase
Allan Holdsworth shines on all of the tracks here. For me, it often takes a while for Holdsworth to be noticed on early listens to albums he is part of, bit not so hear. Every track has a real Holdsworth gem of a solo clear;y bedded in it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Much better than i hoped 20 Aug 2011
By Speedy - Published on Amazon.com
This is an album filled to the brim with those Cream type chords, energy and style. Just more modern, more jazz rock fusion influenced and with a spectacular Holdsworth solo on almost every song. Paul Williams has that Jack Bruce type voice but is not exactly the same. This also reminded me of the I.O.U. Holdsworth album which has Paul Williams on vocals (and which you should get immediately if you don't own it already). Holdsworth even plays a MEAN violin on a track which is one of the best on this album. Also, Hiseman is a great drummer as you probably know. All in all, an album with memorable songs and great playing. Specially recommended to fans of Cream, Jack Bruce, Colosseum and Holdsworth.

This was a great find and a natural progression from colosseum. Also fits well alongside colosseum II strange new flesh.

3.0 out of 5 stars Tempest 7 Jun 2013

It is okay for early seventies music. Tempest had not progressed into their hybrid sound yet. I will still collect their other albums.
