Product Description

Product Description

Natasha Linnet has a weakness for dirty old men - hence her relationship with wine buff and accomplished spanker Percy Ottershaw. When Percy visits a former colleague, the louche Dr Blondeau, in France, Natasha tags along. Blondeau, figuring correctly that any girlfriend of his perverted old friend must be a willing submissive, has extreme ideas of his own, for which he considers Natasha fair game. Natasha sees right through his wiles, of course. But how can she give in, and still have the last laugh? The latest book in Penny Birch's series of bestselling erotica takes the mischievous Natasha on a humiliating, exhilarating, wet-knickered thrill ride through rural France.

5.0 out of 5 stars Joie de Vivre!, 24 Jan 2004

It's a riot! Absolutely filthy, of course - and yes, if you don't like spanking, caning etc, etc, then you won't like Penny Birch's fiction (so don't buy it and review it).
This really is erotic writing at its wicked best; fast-paced, edgy, very funny and very, very imaginative. Penny Birch puts you inside the head of her main character and that's a wonderfully naughty place to be!

2.0 out of 5 stars A bit violent, 11 Jan 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Temper Tantrums (Nexus) (Mass Market Paperback)
This book is not as good as A Taste of Amber. There is just too much beating and torture for it to be erotic, for me. Frankly I don't find any beating, smacking, or cruelty erotic, but these books always seem to have some, and I just skip over it. However in this book there is so much that if I skip it, I skip most of the book.

1.0 out of 5 stars N O O O O O O....!, 14 Feb 2011
By Patricia "A Reader" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Temper Tantrums (Nexus) (Mass Market Paperback)
Looking for a book to help me with my sometimes over-spending habits, (which, I have read, is merely an adult's way of having a temper tantrum), I was shown this book on Amazon. I don't like to think of myself as a prude....but whenever I see an "erotic" book like this,("x"? "xx"? "xxx"? "xxxx"? "xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx"?)
my heart and mind do a double-take, then a nose-dive into a depressed mood. Yes, sex IS good, sex can be wonderful, (and without it, there would be NO continuation of the Human race) -- but
books on erotica -- no matter how well-written -- are just sex-writings to make money, in my book. Sex without tender feelings is simply a "romex" -- and reduces the characters within to a level just above animals. If you want romance....how about those last few pages of PRIDE AND PREDJUDICE? When Mr. Darcy tells Elizabeth about the real nature of Wickam....quiet little fires are started, and not one four-letter word, or description of any body parts, is needed! For male ruffians who act like idiots, look no farther than most of the novels of Barbara Cartland, (an extemely over-rated author, I think - her writing is simplistic, worse her "heros as heels" always upset me, though they do genuinely apologize in the end.) For REAL romantic literary fun, try the novels of GEORGETTE HEYER, (no sex, but much "battle of the sexes" -- recommend "Frederica" and "Faros Daughter", here.)

But for "Temper Tantrum" and her ilk ...my advice is to stay away.
Yes, you'll be READING, and not watching TV....but I can't help but thinking that a good PBS program, on any subject, would definitely be time better spent!
