The perfect embodiment of "the Joe Meek Sound," The Tornados were the greatest of the British instrumental groups, and were influential beyond anything they could have imagined at the time. The long reach of "the sound" touched such diverse fields as American surf music and the soundtrack scores for Italian westerns. This collection is definitive, containing more cuts than I ever knew the Tornados had recorded. A few of the cuts are corny, but most are engaging, and several are as electrifying now as they were in 1963. The liner notes by longtime band member Clem Cattini are illuminating and refreshingly honest--like the sound itself. An essential piece of music history, and guaranteed to get under the skin of anyone who's a sucker for guitar instrumentals.

the tornados do it again.

this is the second soundtrack i ordered by the tornados.iwas not disappointed,this also passed my expections of this wonderful great group.joe meek and this wonderful group have it together again in this great soundtrack.as a matter of fact this one exceeds my great expectations.i really got high on this cd soundtrack,it also took me back to a younger age and wonderful music.my opinions on the anthology go for this cd also.i highly recomend this cd to tornados fans.again i wish i could thank and shake this group of talented musicians hands for their wonderful music.
