This book gives a invaluable understanding as to how to help children through storytelling with their feelings and issues. It provides an understanding as to how a child's imagery and thinking may differ to an adult's. It is broken down into three chapters. 1.Why Storytelling is a good therapeutic tool for children, 2. How to use storytelling..., 3. How to effectively respond to a child's story.

I believe this is the book to start with. This book is under 100 pages of information that has had a profound impact on me. I recommend it as part the tool kit for any one who works with children, up to about age 14.

This book is full of ways to use metaphor in story telling with children.

It is full of useful ideas, how to create a story to incorporate metaphors
relevant to the child's problems.Lots of ways for professionals who work with children to generate a suitable story which can help children to identify with characters and scenarios, and ultimately help them to heal emotionally.

I have used some of the stories with suitable clients, and found that, so far it seems to work well.
