I loved every minute of reading this book and I highly recommend this book to anyone who finds themselves in a position whereby you need to persuade, motivate or lead anyone through the art of storytelling!! You can be a parent, leader or entrepreneur who needs to move someone to reach a purpose or goal and this book will lead you effortlessly to put your point across in a way that will emotionally touch your target audience.

It is clear to see that the author has an abundance of experience, passion and love for what he does and what he continues to achieve throughout his long and distinguished career. You will learn the five steps to telling a great story. The first step is Motivation, are you congruent and authentic? Are your feet, tongue and heart going in the same direction? Secondly, how to create an emotional bond with your audience and thirdly, what is your goal/purpose in telling the story? The fourth step is to make the story Interactive and help the audience make themselves part of your story and to own it for themselves and finally, the most important part Content, how to use your own experience to move others.

There are several great stories and anecdotes to be found in this book, yet more importantly you will get to step inside the mind of a successful man who has a great passion for life and if that motivates you in anyway, then it will be worth the price of this book many times over.

Let's Make a Deal 10 April 2011
By Donald Mitchell HALL OF FAME TOP 500 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
Format:Paperback
"Knowing, therefore, the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are well known to God, and I also trust are well known in your consciences." -- 2 Corinthians 5:11 (NKJV)

Peter Guber has written an excellent book about using storytelling to cut a deal during a high stakes negotiation, especially when access to the other person is limited. If you are such a deal maker or depend on making large sales where there may be little common ground, Tell to Win is an excellent resource. I particularly enjoyed the long list of rich examples, especially from entertainment-related negotiations.

What you won't find is nearly as good a resource for story telling to teach someone else, to inspire imagination, or to build a cultural foundation for future success. For those purposes, seek out Stephen Denning's books. To Mr. Guber's credit, Denning is well referenced in this book relative to negotiating deals.

I really like the idea behind the book. Started to read it but after mid book it starts getting a repetitive. The point is clear but the examples don't add more value to the concept. Still worth buying of the subject appeals to you.
