Product Description

Leila returns to the land of her birth in search of family and instead discovers she is heir to a fiery elemental birthright...all while navigating through the drama of a new high school with the help of her new best friend "Simone daahling" - a boy with flawless makeup and the catwalk style of Kate Moss. She is introduced to the national sport of rugby and meets an irritating boy that would be much easier to hate if he didn't have chipped emerald eyes that were always laughing at her and a glorious golden smile. (The glistening, bronzed abs and Pacific warrior tattoos didn't help either.) There's hate, love, jealousy, volcanoes and lots of delicious Samoan food in Leila's coming-of-age journey as she realizes that ancient Pacific myths of elemental spirit women Telesa, contain more truth than fiction. Secrets are revealed and things get blown up as Leila must choose between sisterhood and the boy she loves. Can their love stand against the Covenant Keeper?

There are many different kinds of love. All of them require sacrifice. Who will give everything for the one they love?

A thriller-romance with a difference. If you enjoyed Twilight, then you will be enthralled by Telesa as it blends the richness (and humor) of Pacific mythology into a contemporary young adult love story that will stay with you long after you have turned the final page.

" Tired of vampires and werewolves? TELESA has a supernatural element but a unique one... Like Air Benders and X-Men combined. Way cool. The Telesa women are an environmental terrorist group that wield their elemental powers with a fierce beauty and devastating impact..."

Jillian Dodd, Author of 'That Boy' - "How many times do you come across a book that gives you everything you want in a book? Telesa has it all. There's Leila, the girl that we can all relate to. She's smart and confident, but doesn't always know what to do. She goes to Samoa searching for a place to belong. She didn't expect to meet a boy. A certain boy, who she hates at first, who is also SMOKING hot. Daniel. Did I mention I'm in love with Daniel? With his rugby playing abs, amazing muscles, interesting tattoos, and killer smile. He can be vicious and competitive on the rugby field one minute, and sweet and chivalrous the next. Sorry, I'll stop now. This book is not just about Daniel.

This story is the epic tale of Telesa. Leila is a Telesa, but doesn't know it. As she grows to discover her birthright, her powers, her family, and herself, what will she choose? What is her destiny? And does it involve a hot rugby player?
Can't wait for book 2."

About the Author

I write, read, blog, teach, cook, make soap, try not to yell at my five children too much, pretend I'm a runner when I'm just a shuffler, dance a lot (and embarass the five children), and then I write some more. I spend too many sleepless nights blogging as a slightly Demented Domestic Goddess over at Sleepless in Samoa...There's a couple of books floating around out there in the universe with my name on them and hopefully, if I stop dancing and reading and blogging and soapmaking long enough - I will finish some more books and send them out into the universe. My short fiction has been published in lots of different countries and my stories written for children are used in school literacy programs. My TELESA series is a neverending source of embarassment for my teenage son because all his friends are reading it and loving the love...the hotness...the fiery romance. (Apparently it is uncool to have a mother who can invent feisty heroines and deliciously hot male leads.)

Pleasantly surprised 28 Mar 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Despite it being a self published, kindle only book, this was fairly well written with very few spelling or grammar errors, an intriguing story line and good scene description. Very much teenage fiction but even as an adult it had me staying up late to finish it.

You dont love someone because theyre a dream of perfection. You love them because of the way they meet their challenges, how they struggle to overcome. You love them because together you bring out the best in each other. "e;
