This is an excellent book - as the blurb says, Ireland can be very frustrating to visit for those interested in ancient monuments, so this is a really useful guide. Plus it's chock full of - significantly - interesting snippets of history and information, entertainingly presented, without overwhelming you with the reams of dreary facts you so often get in official guides to places. Another great plus is that every single place in the book is photographed - beautifully, may I add - so you get a really good idea of what to expect when you get there. All this means the book is great to sling in the back of the car when you're going out for a drive round the country, and is also really nice to flick through and just admire the stunning pictures.
