Received this book a few days ago and im more then happy with it. The Design and quality of it is amazing but more importantly theres is alot of information and detail in this. It gives you every single move, combo, strategy and more. It goes through every character in detail as well as everything you need to know for the scenario campaign. The layout is nice aswell, Very colourful and easy to understand tho you may have to look at the Glossary if your not yet familiar with the game.

Over all i would recommend this book for anyone who is a beginner to an expert. you'll find alot to keep you occupied and no doubt it will give you that extra edge which can determine you from a win to a loss.

Enjoy

Invaluable resource for Tekken fans. Got all the move combos in an easy to follow visual format. Also has walkthroughs and game secrets that it would be hard to find out. Incredibly useful as everything is well organised and easy to find.

An excellent reference guide for Tekken 6. 27 Dec. 2009
By Geist - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
It's funny that there are so many negative reviews for this guide. It's actually a pretty good guide.

This review is from me, a person that OWNS AND PAID FULL RETAIL FOR THIS GUIDE.

What you get:

Full move list for each character including Throws, Throw escapes, Combos (in which you can break down and substitute moves as you get better)Okizeme (Wake-Up Options.)Attack Strategy, Wall Splat attacks, punishers, and floor break enders.

An extensive glossary of terms, techniques, terminology

Achievement & Trophies

Movement guide (which is more important than what most new Tekken players understand)

Scenario Campaign (contrary to what some of the other reviewers say there is a wealth of data listed in this guide)

Item lists and how to use special items such as Asuka's Bow and

To get Advanced and Master instruction for your character (I.E Frame data, what specific moves beat specific moves and types of attacks), check out Tekken Zaibatsu forums (which may see a bit esoteric in the beginning, but stick in there soon it will all make sense.)

If people think this book is too big now, it would be twice as big with frame data for every character.

Do all the combos that are listed in this book work? I don't know, I haven't tried them all. But the ones that I have tried, do work (I play Asuka, Armor King, and Dragunov)

If you are serious about playing T6, pick up this guide.

Avoid this Guide! 19 Feb. 2010
By Xevious - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
I just picked up this guide along with Brady's Soul Calibur 4 guide and I have to say that both are lacking in every way that's important to me. Since this is a Tekken 6 guide review, I'll only focus on this and leave Soul Calibur out.

As others have mentioned, the guide is really thick. This is what made me think it was good. I figured a think guide meant there was a lot of character strategy. I used to be really good at Tekken back in the Tag days, and I had been using the Tekken Zaibatsu site for most of my T6 needs, but combo damage isn't listed in many cases and it's just hard to navigate the forums to find the info you really need. So I picked up this guide and found it to be even worse.

The character section have almost no strategy in them. There are one or two paragraphs of strategy for each character. Now my little brother owns the TMNT Smash-Up guide and while the game is terrible, the guide has 10x more character strategy than the Tekken 6 guide. How is that even possible?! T6 is so much more deep than TMNT.

All you get from this guide are the very basics for each character, which just isn't enough. With two authors on this thing you'd think it would be a lot better, but it's terrible. If you know absolutely nothing about Tekken, this guide is a little more organized than TZ, but you won't learn all that much from it, especially character specific strategies.

Also, NO FRAME DATA?! Even the Street Fighter 4 guide had frame data and it's not all that useful for Street Fighter.
No combos 8 Aug. 2013

I bought this book to have a hard copy of the button combinations but it doesn't have them in it. I was disappointed but it's okay as a strategy guide.

Fool's Gold 17 Nov. 2009
By Q. Pair - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
Ok, honestly, when it comes to fighting games, I cant say that there is much that I expect from a stratagy guide. In the past there has been very little complexity to a fighting game; you pick a character, you fight a bunch of other characters, you get an ending. Easy, right? This has been the bare basic formula for fighting games since Steetfighter came out, and Tekken is no different. That being said however, Tekken has become much more complex in its recent years, incorperating new and engaging modes that make it about more then just fighting. The best example of this is Tekken Force Mode. I say all this to illustrate a point: when you have a stategy guide, it is meant to help you get through the game, correct? Well, this is where BradyGames fails miserably.

THE GOOD
1) the guide is pretty. Its actually very pretty. As far as collectors value goes (if thats even applicable here) its a keeper. A lot of work was put into the artwork and the screen shots to make it look great.

2) The Background info. I can honestly say that I learned more about the characters from the guide book then I did while playing the game. Frankly, thats unacceptable on the game's part, but it is what it is.

3) Combo listings. This being a fighting game, no guide would be complete without the massive list of combo and special moves for every player (and there are alot). This factor is what contributes to the great thickness of the book, and its pretty thick.

THE BAD
1) The lack of depth. The guide is thick as a brick. So what? Yes, it has a complete list of combos and page worth of story per character, but the main reason I even got the stupid thing was for the Campaign Mode (Tekken Force). Campaign Mode is the most played and most complex part of the game, yet when I went in the book to search for it, imagine my shock and disapointment when I didnt find jack on it. On the one hand, the missions are pretty straight forward and some are short, but on some levels its downright frustrating how hard it is. My beef is there is no stratagy for beating the higher level bosses in the game, especially Azazel. That bastard is hard! The best this book does for you as far as the Campaign Mode is give you an overview of what it is, how to play it, and what items do what for you. After that your pretty much on your own.

2) No Secrets. This is second only to the lack of depth. Even though all the characters are automatically available at the start, there are still things to unlock. In Campaign Mode, there are extra missioins you can play once you play it though on easy. The bosses and the stages leading up to them are very difficult, and it would help if the official stratagy guide would explain how to get through them. This book tells you NONE of these things. All the information in this paragraph I had to find out first hand, or I got it from a guide online.

3) The Price. Obviously, paying full retail price for this door stopper is something I highly advise against. Its not worth paying more then five bucks for it as far as quality goes.

Again, I dont expect much from a stratgy guide for a fighting game. It is what it is. But when that game incorperates stuff that goes beyond just beating your opponent comatos, it would be nice to have some help from THE OFFICIAL STRATAGY GUIDE! Epic fail BradyGAmes. Truely an epic fail. If you want help for this game, find a guide online, they are way more helpful.

RETARDED! 8 Nov. 2009

You are better off printing out papers from forums and online guides. The combos on this book are faulty and some of them just plainly DON'T WORK. No frame data as well. Big disappointment
