4.0 out of 5 stars Shut up and fight 11 Sep 2012
Format:DVD|Amazon Verified Purchase
After seeing the horrible live action Tekken film I rented this rather than buy it, now at £6 this DVD is worth every penny. This DVD has some of the best fight scenes of any animi. The CGI is great, the moves are right out of the computer game. The final fight scene between the 3 Mishmas is top notch. Then you get into Dragonball Z territory with the Devil gene and True Org. The main failing of this DVD is the dialogue between the 2 female main characters the lines are cheesy, I would recommend that English speaking viewer should just turn the language to Japanese sit back and enjoy. The other thing I could not understand why these two characters were chosen over many more fan-favourite characters. However like I said sit back and watch, don't think or listen too hard, and enjoy.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not a great film but entertaining 15 Feb 2012

When Ling Xiayou is "asked" by Anna Williams to spy on Shin Kamiya, a student at an international school, for the G Corporation she discovers that she is not the only one interested in the mysterious boy as Alisa Bosconovitch is also trying to get close to him. From there Xiayou is drawn onto the conflict between the G Corporation and the Mishima Zaibatsu, and their respective leaders Kazuya Mishima and Jin Kazama.

Apparently taking place between the fifth and sixth games `Tekken: Blood Vengeance' is supposedly canon but if this is the case it apparently causes some continuity errors (I haven't played Tekken 6 so I cannot say for sure). The plot of the film isn't great and could have used a bit more thought in places. The English voice actors do a reasonable job but the films script is not great with some rather corny and clichéd lines. Also the lip-sinking for the English dub is terrible in places. Another minor let-down is that only around eight or nine of the characters from the game have any decent screen time in the film but the series does have more than fifty characters and it would be asking a bit much for all of them to appear in a ninety-two minute film.

On the plus side the CGI animation is brilliant in places and although the ultimate finale is something of a let-down, many of the fights up until then are very nicely done. As well as this there are some quite funny moments throughout the film, especially whenever Lee Chaolan makes an appearance.

Overall `Tekken: Blood Vengeance' is a film that could have been a lot better but it does have some nice moments and although these don't make up for the films faults, it does push the score up to three stars.
