The Tefal Ultraglide FV4480 steam iron combines power and efficiency with low maintenance. It offers a very powerful 2300 wattage and 0-35g/minute steam output, to gently soften clothes for easier ironing. The Tefal Ultraglide also boasts a 95g/minute shot of steam , a boost to get rid of those more difficult and stubborn creases.
The steam output of an iron is indicated in grams per minute (g/min), so the higher the output, the more steam is generated to tackle creases. And the more powerful the iron, the deeper steam will penetrate fabric for quicker, hassle-free ironing and excellent results, no matter the fabric.

The Ultraglide FV4480 features an extra large refill for the easiest, safest and fastest. As well as a large 270ml water tank and a 3m cord length. Thanks to the vertical steam, you will also be able to give a fresh touch to your hanging garments, suits and curtains. The easycord system permits to keep the cord away when ironing.

You can't beat it. My old Tefal died and I purchased an iron quickly from a local Supermarket. Bad move. Returned it as it didn't GLIDE. Purchased a replacement Tefal Ultraglide from Amazon and am now enjoying ironing again. It is so easy to use and just slides over the material.

My old Tefal Ultraglide was quite a few years old and I was upset when it died.
I read all the reviews of all Tefal irons and kept returning to this model. It reminded me of my old one too much to ignore it.
The ironing was waiting when it arrived and I soon had it filled and ready - no trouble filling it - and it took the same amount of water as my old one, so no problem there either.
The weight is perfect, in fact I think most irons weigh about the same. Getting the steam/heat levels right took a while but by the second shirt, I had it sorted.
The reason for only 4 stars is because of the base the iron rests on. Once my ironing was done and put away, I emptied my new iron and went to hang it on the wall stand where I've hung all my other irons - but it wouldn't fit because of the width of the base!!
I'm not unhappy about this; it's a nuisance but I've found somewhere else to store it. All in all, an excellent iron and highly recommended. many thanks Tefal!! and many thanks Amazon for such fantastic service!!!

Our old Tefal iron (approx 34 months old) developed an earth leakage fault which kept tripping the RCD.Having been basically satisfied with Tefal (apart from the short g'tee period of 12 months)we looked for a similar unit.Having checked user reviews and prices we decided on the FV4480GO which cost £28.91 via Amazon.This compared with £38--£59 in s'markets,cat.showrooms and discount stores.(none,apart from John Lewis,offered more than 12 months g'tee) The iron itself is excellent,good resevoir,fast heating and super sole plate,cable position is good and the safety 'shoe' on the iron offers much improved stability.I would recommend this iron based on the short use it has so far been subjected to.As a point of interest we also took out a 3yr breakdown/acc. damage insurance with Square Trade for £10.99 so ended up with the iron fully covered for 3yrs for under £40--a good result I think.I do feel that a domestic item like this,not in constant use,should come with an absolute minimum of a 2yr g'tee--(3yr would be more reasonable)
