    Best toaster I have ever owned. Cooks the most perfect cheese on toast in under 3 minutes. Very quick to heat up and gets red hot (literally the top element glows red after a min or so). The clicking noises it makes are as follows:

    Clicks to let you know you have turned the power on or off.
    Clicks to let you know when you hit the power button on or off.
    Clicks when you turn the timer switch.

    Important that it does make these noises as it gets so hot so quickly you must be very careful not to burn yourself.

    I've now owned one of these grills for 4 weeks and have eventually worked out how it works. It seems to have certain peculiarities that I've never come across before in the same type of small appliance and for that I have to mark it down. If it had not worked so well overall, once I understood it, I'd have marked it down even further.

    NIGGLES/faults:
    The timer switch does not move down once set and switched on. I honestly thought the timer was not working and was almost ready to return the grill. It takes a while to learn to have enough faith in the timer to know you can safely walk away and it will switch off. It has not let me down yet, but as I say, an immobile timer switch is not a good idea, and the fact that the "instructions" make no reference to this quirk leads to much panic when first trying out the grill
    Both the toast rack and the "baking" tray are a very poor fit in the machine. I cured the toast rack easily by bending out the two external wire edges to make it slightly wider and that is now fine. The "baking" tray only seats properly in the grill racks if I double line it with tin foil, thereby increasing the overall width of the tray. It simply will not stay slotted in to the grill rack as the tray is too narrow. (I hope you can understand all this.)

    GOOD POINTS:
    In fact, I'd say excellent points! It toasts every size and thickness of bread you care to throw at it and it does it well. It gets even better when you want to have something melted on top of the toast and this is where the "booster" button comes into its own. It really does boost the grill power and makes a great job of the likes of cheese on toast.

    POINTS I DISCOVERED FOR MYSELF
    It makes the most fantastic toasted sandwiches ever if you use one of those Toastabag things. I tried those in a normal toaster but everything used to drip out the bottom of the toastie. In this grill, the Toastabag lies flat and makes a perfect sandwich. (Try making a toasted sandwich using a part tin of Chicken Supreme and you'll not taste any toastie better. Curried chicken, and Minced Beef & Onion straight out of the tin and into the toastie make wonderful savouries too. I could go on ... )

    All in all, a nifty machine which saves a fortune in electricity, but has a lot of quirks which need to be learned. Impatient people may give up too easily and I would not really blame them. It should have been better designed to work in a more straightforward way.

    This is a lovely little machine which is much better than a conventional toaster and looks smart as well. A wider range of use. Adverse reviews mentioned 'cutting out' of the element. I would like to say I think this is the thermostatic control operating i have deduced. The presence of the booster button meaning quite high heats can be obtained means that it could rise to dangerously high heats in a small space, so the thermostat cuts it out to produce an overall even heat. Very good and safe. As a retired lady I appreciate sitting down to watch my lunch cheese on toast cook at eye level. is very very good.
