The Tefal Steam Cuisine food steamer is 3 tiered with fixed grids, and has easy to store bowls. You’ll have no excuses for overdoing your food with its 60 minute mechanical timer and cooking indicator light.

Tefal owes its origins to a Frenchman, Marc Grégoire, and his wife, Colette. M. We use our steamer daily, so it gets a lot of use. Steamers are pretty fragile things, partly because the heat and steam tends to make the already flimsy plastic parts brittle and therefore subject to cracking and breaking (we reckon on replacing ours annually). Previous Tefal steamers we have owned have fallen apart, partly because the clips retaining the bases of the baskets snapped, and also a curious design of lid handle which was simply stuck on. This Tefal rectifies these deficiencies by having fixed bases and handles at the sides of the lid.

In use, the steamer proves very easy for normal purposes, though filling while in operation needs a little care. The baskets are well designed and a good size, so it can cope with quite large quantities, and the drip tray (which catches water which can be used for gravies, sauces etc) is deep enough not to overflow, which makes it easy for pouring. A bonus not always recognised is the rice bowl; steamers do tend to make absolutely perfect rice.

This does everything you'll want from a steamer and represents good value. You can pay a lot more for frivolous features, fancy finishes or designer names, but you could be wasting your money.

No more 2 or 3 pans for me, I now have one of the above. Veg for the plate so easy to do, so little washing up after. Fool proof and where cookings concerned I would know

This steamer is excellent. Cooks all your veg in a healthy and tasty way. Just load it up, (3 trays) set the timer And that's it
You can just put on one or two baskets if you want . Just remember that it can get hot but it is my best kitcen gadget purchase.
