Tefal owes its origins to a Frenchman, Marc Grégoire, and his wife, Colette. M. Grégoire, a keen fisherman, wanted to make his rod reel in more smoothly and, in the 1950's, experimented to see if a non stick coating might provide the answer. It did!     Ok my last toaster, a Tefal Avanti, lasted 12 or 13 years until last week when I had just finished bragging about its longevity to friends. So decided on this, its smart looking, has good build quality, and does nice toast.
    Would have given five stars only for the fact its power lead is fairly short (900mm) and comes out of the right hand side rear (the tong side), so it didn't reach my old ones socket.
    Measures 13" wide, 9" deep, and 8" high and its brushed stainless and black case, with a polished stainless recessed area for your toast.
