Product Description

Product Description

18/10 Stainless Steel – A highly polished stainless steel exterior, for an attractive finish. The stainless steel body gives enduring strength and durability. 10 year guarantee on the body.

Diffusal Base – a thick layer of aluminium between two layers of stainless steel. The combination of aluminium and stainless steel achieves the optimum heat distribution and ensures durability of the product. Suitable for all hobs, including induction, but not AGA.

Vitamin Retaining System & Steam Basket – Tefal’s unique air draining system, helps to evacuate the air from the pressure cooker resulting in improved circulation of steam, resulting in faster cooking and greater retention of vitamins; the multi perforated vitamin basket aids this process.

One Touch Lid – Easy opening/closing system, simply press button to release lid.

Removable Timer – Controls cooking time to the second. Once the cooking time is programmed, it triggers automatically once the steam is released.

2 Cooker settings – a user friendly two position pressure regulator for different recipes, i.e. higher pressure for meats, lower pressure for vegetables.

Foldable Handles – unique foldable handles and reversible lid for compact storage.

15 recipes included

Tefal owes its origins to a Frenchman, Marc Grégoire, and his wife, Colette. M. Grégoire, a keen fisherman, wanted to make his rod reel in more smoothly and, in the 1950's, experimented to see if a non stick coating might provide the answer. It did! But it was his wife who made the real breakthrough by gently suggesting that coating the cooking pans would have a more worthwhile application by making them easier to cook with and simpler to clean. Now, Tefal is the number one name in non-stick products and small appliances, operating in over 120 countries. Tefal remains committed to making household tasks easier and cooking results better, through a constant flow of new ideas and technology along with added expertise from chefs like Jamie Oliver.

2.0 out of 5 stars Plastic short lived 28 April 2011
I have had the previous Jamie Oliver Clipso model for less than 4 years & the plastic control module has expired - a piece has broken off inside & there is a crack running across it. It has never been dropped & I have always removed it when putting the lid in the dishwasher. I can only assume that the heat has caused the plastic to become brittle. I have contacted Tefal who tell me that the part is now obsolete. I would expect £100 worth of pressure cooker to last longer than that - my old prestige lasted for 25 years or more!

1.0 out of 5 stars Do not buy a Tefal pressure cooker 19 July 2011
I have used pressure cookers for 35 years, and thought the Clipso would be good because the closing mechanism would be gentler on the wrists, and it certainly is. However, it takes forever to come up to pressure and now that I've had it a few years and need a new seal I cannot get one ANYWHERE.I have contacted tefal, who have not replied, so I am about to buy a Prestige Smartplus 6L having found the 3L version I recently bought so good to use, but needing more capacity. Tefal Clipso was an expensive mistake.

1.0 out of 5 stars Waste of money 23 May 2011
I wanted a stainless steel pressure cooker so the choice was limited. The TEFAL by Jamie Oliver Clipso 6 Litre Pressure Cooker looked liked the best buy, if a little gimmicky. On the very first use steam from the cooker entered the timer and it failed. I dried it out and thought it was working properly only to discover the clock slows as the heat/temperature of the pan increases.

A complete waste of a lot of money. I strongly advise you spend your hard earned money on a different/alternative product.

Returned.
