Product Description
The Tefal Oleoclean Deluxe Fryer is the fyer that filters the oil itself. Oil is automatically filtered for unhealthy burnt crumbs, making frying cleaner and safer. The Oleoclean Deluxe has a unique anti-odour solution, a 100 per cent carbon filter which can be regenerated in your dishwasher for up to 80 uses.
The Oleoclean Deluxe also has an integrated and removable hermetic oil storage box, meaning no smells or mess. Your chips will look golden and taste delicious every time.
The fryer has a 1.3kg capacity, and uses two litres of oil.
Other useful features include a square shape, for easy storage, and a large viewing window to moniter cooking.
The body, bowl, lid and basket of the Oleoclean Deluxe are removeable and each part is dishwasher safe.
The fryer has a 12-month Tefal warranty, supported by after sales service.

I read some other reviews on this saying that some people have experienced leaks but bought it anyway.
I bought this 2 days ago, having just gone into the kitchen, I found all of the oil from the fryer on the floor! The drain knob was still in the correct 'fry' position but the oil had leaked, not into the collection box underneath but through the mechanism and onto the worktop and then onto the floor. Looks like a faulty or incorrectly fitting drain plug.
I consider this a very dangerous product and would suggest any potential buyers give it a miss.

After looking at several different sizes and models we decided to pick this one because we have had TEFAL products before and they lasted quite a long time. Yes, it is bulky and won't fit on a standard sized cupboard shelf but we decided to put it in the garage instead and problem solved (we thought). And yes it was a bit more expensive than the rest but if it was as good as the other products, we didn't mind.
The oil seemed to stay cleaner longer than we expected (we don't use it that much) and chips, croquettes and onion rings came out looking very appetising and tasting even better.
Dishwasher seemed to clean it all nicely after a wipe off with kitchen tissue.
So far so good.
After 8 months of very light use we noticed that the teflon coating in the bowl had started to peel off, which we weren't impressed with. Then we noticed a small amount of oil in the lid of the oil reservoir at the bottom. Then a bit more...so I decided to check the spring mechanism and it seemed that it wasn't closing properly so after a good hand clean everything looked OK again, used it a couple of times more and no futher problems.
Last week I walked in the garage to pick it up and all the oil had drained off the bowl and instead of filling up the reservoir, it was all on the shelf, bottom of the unit and floor.
I'm completely unimpressed that after only 10 months, the fryer has degraded so much: the teflon's coating is coming off whilst wiping off the bowl with a kitchen tissue without applying any pressure on it, the draining mechanism doesn't close properly and the oil doesn't fall into the reservoir as it should but runs off it.
The damned thing's gone to the recycling centre and TEFAL's another brand off the list...and it wasn't cheap neither! Shocking.
There's a new model out in the market but we'll stay clear off that one too, if the draining mechanism is the same design as in this one, it'll also be a pricey piece of rubbish.

Leaky rubbish
Leaked 2 litres of oil all over the kitchen for the second time. Another Tefal product that fails to live up to the hype. Junk.

Chip Perfectionist
This has to be the BEST. No burnt oil so less smells, good filtering. Easy to clean, put most of it in the dishwasher, even the filter. Highly recommended.

Oleoclean fryer
I am very dissapointed with this fryer, after only 4 uses the inside coating came off leaving bare metal showing where there should be non stick,we had followed the manufacturers... Read more
