Good all round product. The only snag is the handle, in that it doesn't fold downwards. If the basket is left in the oil, then the handle sticks out. However, as long as you have plenty of room where it stands, then this is overcome. Heats up and fries very well. I have been pleased with it otherwise. Good value at the price, and I like the removable frying container, as this aids easy cleaning. Also easy to unpack and assemble.

Oil heats up very quickly. The fryer is smaller than I anticipated, none the less it's sufficient for two people, defo not a family fryer. The downfall to this fryer is when Getting the food out of the basket it folds in (As it has the mechanism of folding the handle in) so u need to hold the top end of basket in order for it to stop folding in, which is really annoying. Other than that fryer is good, cooks food really well.

This a really good product. The parts are of excellent quality and at this price you can't go wrong! It has many adjustable settings and a sleek design - if you need a deep fat fryer, this this is the one.

After we binned our previous fryer due to health reasons about 5 years ago we had a hankering for some real chips.I have decided that chips once a week is ok(truth is we said bugger the calories).looked at fryers in various stores and for between £18 and £30 you can get a fryer that looks like the Tefal but are really flimsy, some are more expensive and are very tinny and look cheap. The Tefal feels sturdy and looks well made. Some of the top of the range fryers at twice the price of the Tefal don't appear to be of a superior quality, they may have a few more buttons and features but the Tefal has everything we required. The fryer gets to temperature very quickly(about 4-5 mins to 190c).Have only tried chips and chicken so far,and they were superb. The fryer is easy to clean and the outer walls don't get very hot at all. Overall i find this fryer does what its designed for very well.

Good size. Appears that it will be easy to clean and the lid certainly helps contain odours from cooking! Despite other reviews mentioning problems folding the basket handle, I've found no such issues & it folds down & locks into place perfectly! Very pleased with this fryer.

I spent hours looking for a deep fat fryer on the internet. I decided on this one in the end based on people's reviews. It is quite large and so you need to think about where you are going to put it for both cooking and storage. It does come apart for cleaning....the parts are the lid, the heating element with the black part showing controls, the basket with handle, and the oil basin. The handle to the basket can be folded in and/or detached for easy storing. (I have not yet cleaned it although reviewers say you can easily wash it under running tap and dry but NOT the element with controls though). I did have a bit of a drama though. I had filled it as instructed using for me corn oil -..note that the maximum filling line is very hard to see so look out that you do not overfill, and had set it up where I thought I would do the cooking. Do note that the plug lead is quite short and needs to be close to an electric point. This is for safety measures. Then my husband said that in the booklet it pointed out you should not cook with it near to the sink and water. I debated where I would put it. My plan was to cook later on that day. I decided to move it over to the other side of the kitchen away from the sink and lifted it IN ERROR by the black control part and underneath on the left. It started to slip from my hands and tipped up slightly allowing about half a pint or so of oil to pour out over me, the floor and side of worktop !!! This was my fault because I had not realised that there are two lifting handles on the side of the fryer....none of which I had used. So look out! Later I cooked with it. I made chips cut fairly small, but not thin french fries, and firstly cooked them in pan of water to par cook.Read more ›

Our first deep fat fryer .... and it's fantastic - no wonder this got so many positive reviews (that's what persuaded me to go for this one). In some of the other reviews a couple of people have said that the handle on the basket causes them problems because it's hinged. It is hinged - but all you do is press it down into the locking position and it LOCKS rigid (you unlock it again and push it out of the way - for storage when you have finished cooking). I'm amazed that these reviewers - just couldn't figure this out !!! As to the capacity - well it certainly does enough chips for two people (reasonable and normal portions) but I think you'd be stretching it for three servings - and four portions would really just not practical (unless you all eat like mice). The oil you put in it reaches it's temperature in nine minutes and you are ready to go. Once the correct temperature has been reached - it stays at that temperature and can't ever overheat. All in all - I just can't think of anything else to say except - it's pretty much "perfect". Just buy it .... I'm certain it's everything you want it to be.
