This is my first 'steam generator' iron and I am now completely converted.
At first I thought it would be a 'faff' to get out for smaller ironing loads and kept my normal iron just in case but I always turn to this one now.
It doesn't take long to heat up, though admittedly it is not instantaneous.
I only have to fill once and have plenty of steam for a good sized ironing mountain.
The steam seems so powerful compared to my old iron and I seem to whizz through the pile now, I just need to be careful sometimes as too much steam can leave smaller items a little damp when I put them back in the basket. Creases just drop out though.
It is larger and slightly more difficult to store though it tries very hard to pack away as neatly as possible. I would prefer a slightly longer power cable but the cable from the generator to the iron is a very good length.
I feel like I need to buy a bigger sturdier ironing board though now I have such an industrious heavy duty little machine.
I would recommend this product compared to a standard iron, I can't comment on how it compares to other similar products though.

Bought a Philips Iron back in November after my old Tefal packed up (after many years good service). Absolute disaster, never worked properly. In desperation ordered this iron 4pm on a Friday and with express delivery it was here by 11am next day. Even with Express delivery it was still cheaper than Argos. Iron works brilliantly and gets through a large pile of ironing really quickly. Great design with the handle lock and clips for cord etc.

Takes all the hard work out of ironing. Should have bought one earlier. Value for money, easy to use, not as bulky and awkward to store as some I have seen. Best price from Amazon delivery next day at 8 a.m. What more could I ask for ?

Tefal Compact GV7095 Steam Generator
Excellent product, and very quick delivery. Ironing is always a chore, but with this model, I reckon at least 33% of time has been cut from standing behind the ironing board.
