Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

Introducing, the new and improved Quick Cup Deluxe from Tefal. Still enabling us to beat the boredom of waiting for a kettle to boil and saving just as much energy, the Quick Cup Deluxe serves hot (not boiling) or cool water on demand in only 3 SECONDS and uses only a third of the energy of an ordinary kettle - so a great time, energy and money saver.

Thanks to a unique "Opti-Quick" technology system (a patented innovation by Tefal), you don't need to pre-heat your water. With the push of a button, the water is sent up the heating element in a spiral movement, heating it immediately as it travels. This way, no energy is wasted on heating water you don't need, or boiling water you don't use. In fact, Quick Cup provides an energy saving of up to 65% compared to a standard kettle, helping you to save on bills too. Tefal energy experts have calculated that there could be a £31 cost-saving per year using Quick Cup compared to an ordinary kettle. So if you are thinking of replacing your kettle and want to help reduce your carbon footprint, then Quick Cup could be the best way to help put your energy-saving intentions into action.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quieter than the original 14 July 2009
Verified Purchase
Bought this stainless steel deluxe model to replace my well-used original Tefal Quick Cup and find this model much quieter and more efficient. The water tank is slightly larger and the buttons are not fiddly as on the original. The addition of a descaling reminder light and drip tray are definite improvements. Would highly recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent product for the less able bodied 11 July 2009
I purchased this product several weeks ago for my ageing mother, no more worries about her scalding herself lifting a full boiling kettle. Instant hot water for drinks in no time, she actually now bothers to make herself more drinks. Can not rate this product more highly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Much, much better. 29 Aug 2009
Verified Purchase
I bought this one late July as it's predecessor had been going downhill and eventually failed altogether. I hummed and hawed a bit before going for the newer model but now glad I did.

First of all it's easier to programme and delivers water which is noticeably hotter and because the initial burst of Water is really hot, you get a better beverage. Because of this, Tea and Coffee tastes better.

Programming it to your Cup size is a doddle: Just hold the Red button down until it reaches the desired level and from then onwards, you just tap the button and it delivers the same amount every time.

I'm very pleased with it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than the previous model 1 Sep 2009
Had the previous model but not happy with the splashing. This is much improved, the design also fits well on a work top. Used regularly for herbal teas and for cooking where small amounts of hot water are needed.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great improvement 18 Nov 2009
We previously had the original quick cup and found the water temperature a little disappointing and the water tank rattled alot. This new version is a great improvement, the water is much hotter and the whole thing has a much more solid feel to it. The drip tray and adjustable nozzle are a great addition.

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm impressed 16 Aug 2009
By Nathan
After reading the reviews about this product's predecessor I was a little worried, but some research uncovered that this delivered water at a higher temperature than the quick cup so I went ahead and bought it.

I drink coffee and my girlfriend drinks tea and this product delivers water hot enough to make both, in fact the coffee without milk is usually too hot to drink immediately.

I very good feature of this product is that you can program quite easily how much hot water it delivers allowing for one touch making of your morning drink. The only slight downside it that I have to get a new favourite mug, because if there is more than one of you in the house then you really need to all be drinking out of the same sized cups to get the full convenience out of this product.

3.0 out of 5 stars Do not buy this 10 Jun 2010
I purchased my first quickcup in November 2009 and was please with it and subsequently bought another 4 which has been given to friends and family.
The first one stopped working today, granted it has had a lot of use.
The last one, which I purchased in January 2010 was given to an 86 year old lady who only uses it for a quick cup when she gets up in the middle of the night, stopped working 2 weeks ago. I wonder how long the other 3 will keep going. I will keep you posted on that.

Promised update- I have spoken to Tefal and they have promised to replace both units, can't fault their customer service.
