If like me during the early 1990's a certain film took over your young life and had you saying cowabunga until your parents were sick of it, will understand why you love the turtles and even this soundtrack. I used to have this on cassette tape and yes i played the thing to death. Why not? Have you seen the songs on it? For starters there is Partner in Crime epic rap Turtle Power which when played now will take you back to the memories you had when you first watched the movie. I can still remember the words to the song fully and if dared I WILL do it on youtube just to prove it. I mean this rap is ten times better than TMNT2: The secret of the OOZE soundtrack which contained the atrocious Ninja Rap by Vanilla Ice. Who was the bright spark who decided to put that in the sequel? Anyway back to the original movie soundtrack, every song on this soundtrack is easy to sing along to and enjoyable. From St. Paul's Every heart needs a home to Let the walls come down by Johnny Kemp to yes even Mc Hammer's This is what we do. Even the unforgetable Splinter's Story in which Splinter tells us how he and the turtles came to be is fun to listen to especially when you hear the turtle speaking their first words after being covered in the ooze. This album is one of those treasures that you simply must have. It is as AWESOME! as the movie and every bit as memorable. So get it and uncover your own T-U-R-T-L-E POWER!

As a 9-year-old the Turtles were a big deal in the summer of 1990. The movie actually came out on March 30th and I didn't see it until July, but back then movies lasted a lot longer in theatres (as it should be) and we didn't live in such a media-saturated environment so films with even a small amount of hype had more stamina than they would today. Despite other huge tentpole flicks debuting that summer (Gremlins 2, BTTF III, RoboCop 2, Die Hard 2) I couldn't see them all no matter how much I wanted to, so Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles had to be one of them. I don't think I blinked once during the movie's duration.

The soundtrack was also popular around the poolside and on the radio that summer. Filled with hip-hop and New Jack Swing themed tracks the album will no doubt bring back memories of large, very white sneakers, neon sunglasses, and loud, colorful fashions.

There are 10 tracks on the album:

1. This is What We Do - MC Hammer - remember him? No? Well he was very popular in 1990, I think he works in a Carphone Warehouse now or something. It's a pretty lame track to be honest. 2/5

2. Spin That Wheel - Technotronic - another old-school 90s track that evokes feelings of a colorful New York City. Quite bland though. 2/5

3. Family - Riff - a little more funkier than the previous tracks, this R&B effort from the New Jersey-based Riff is another bland one that pushes its luck with a 5-minute running time. 2/5

4. 9.95 - Spunkadelic - the Canadian hip-hop group manage to produce one of the better tracks on the album with something that is more livelier and fun. 3/5

5. Turtle Power - Partners in Kryme - the closing credits which blew my mind as it blasted from the speakers that night.

Bit disappointed with the case as it would have taken two secs to swap it for an new one, but what do I expect for something that is older than my son. he had been listening to LL Cool J like he was some new group he had found so I just had to educate him in MY FAVOURITE album. He has taken it into school for their radio and his teachers must be similar ages as they think it is cool too Or maybe they just have the same incredible music taste that I have
