5.0 out of 5 stars Must reads! 2 Mar 2013
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
For any fan of TMNT these classic mirage tales are absolute must reads.
Also the quality of these books are beautiful. They are large thick and heavy and look great on the shelf.
Not to mention aside from the stories they are packed with lots of information from Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Ultimate Collection Name Continues To Be Well Deserved 26 Oct 2012
By Jonathan Balofsky - Published on Amazon.com

This collection continues IDW's reprints of the original TMNT comics. I love the size of the book as it really allows you to appreciate the art more. The annotations and commentary are excellent and build interest in the stories. As for the stories themselves, they are fun stories and dark at times. I especially like how the stories slowly build up without the reader realizing it until the end. Very much worth getting and makes you want to read the rest of the stories a whole lot more. Luckily Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Ultimate Collection Volume 3 is already out and 4 and 5 are coming soon.

2.0 out of 5 stars tmnt deserves better 14 April 2013

This is missing three issues. IDW decided that due to the stories not being done mainly by eastman and laird, that its ok to leave them out. IDW needs to understand that when you call it an ultimate edition, it means every story. Not just major story lines. But , this is ok if all you want are major story lines. So, its the purchasers choice.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must-have for any turtles fan! 15 Feb 2013
By Wat - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
This is the second volume of the turtles collection that contains
the beginning of the story of the return of an iconic enemy when
Leonardo gets his shell kicked by the Foot and a resurrected Shredder.

The turtles, April, and Casey Jones are forced to flee April's burning
apartment (and the city in general) to Casey's grandmother's cottage
in Massachusetts. (this is where the '91 movie got most of its plot,
including the narration of the turtle's conditions by April)

This volume also contains the rest of the one-issue micro series
(Raphael's micro series issues was contained in the first volume)
along with an interesting (but very weird) story on time-travel and
dimension hopping.

An AWESOME read, and a must-have for a fan of any of the incarnations
of the TMNT.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cowabunga!! 28 Jun 2012

These Ultimate Collection books by IDW of the older Eastman & Laird Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are just outstanding printings. Never before has such a nice collection of these early issues been printed, from the awesome wrap around graphic hardback cover, to the large size printing of the pages. Here in Vol. 2 you get Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #s 8-11, as well as One Shot issues "Michaelangelo," "Donatello," and "Leonardo." On top of the reprinted issues, you'll get extra annotations by original creators Kevin Eastman, and Peter Laird. If you're a hard-core Ninja Turtles fan, these are the best collections currently on the market by far.

4.0 out of 5 stars More of the same, is GREAT 12 Mar 2014
By Richard V. Coleman - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
I loved TMNT collection one and this is more of the same classic black and white action and humor you would expect from the turtles. This collection takes 7 TMNT comics and combines them with the thoughts of Eastman and Laird (co-creators) in between each issue. I had never read these before so it was great and convenient to pick up the collections and read these back to back, just wish each collection had more comics, but the prints and values is great for any fan of the new series, old live action movies or a look back at the original comics. Thanks for the fun!
