I bought this album many years ago when it was first released, after seeing the band live, supporting Led Zeppelin. It is pure rock as it was then. Maggie Bell's voise is just right for this type of music. Unfortunately, my album was broken during a house move a few years ago, and although I tried finding another copy, no-one could help. Then along came amazon.uk to the rescue. I have this CD in my shopping basket ready to buy on pay day. Roll on pay day. Anyone who loves rock music as it is meant to be will love this album. After all, they appeared with Led Zeppelin, what more recommendation do you need.

Not for the faint hearted, one of the best rock LPs of the 70s. Not very well known at the time and now largely forgotten yet at one time they were talked about in the same breath as Led Zeppelin. They are not as inventive as Zeppelin but in Maggie Bell they had a hell of a singer check out her solo LP Queen Of The Night.

Hadnt heard this album since the mid-seventies when my elder brothers mate loaned it to him and I used to play it. ALOT. When I bought it on CD I thought I was taking a chance but its incredibly good, and very contemporary. My musical tastes are eclectic , and so too are Stone The Crows. Particularly like Mr Wizard and One Five Eight, but Maggie Bell has a great ballsy, bluesey voice and Les harvey is greatly missed. Top notch, and well done to Peter grant [Led Zeppelin] for championing them. 5 out of 5.
