Michael Reilly Burke does an excellent job potraying the serial killer Ted Bundy. If you have ever seen any real-life footage of Bundy, you realise that it is a very difficult job to play a master of manipulation.
Bundy was slick, manipulative, articulate and charming. He was a master of understanding the psychology of others and manipulating weaknesses in others such a blind -faith, vanity , arrogance and credulousness.
Micheal Reilly Burke manages to capture the Ted Bundy that was also a media darling. Burke allows us to know Bundy is a sadistic killer, but because of his charm we hope deep down we have made a mistake and caught the wrong guy. This is exactly how Ted Bundy operated.
.
Bundy is the best out of the stable of Tartan films focussing on serial killers ( this includes Ed Gein , John Wayne Gacy and Jeffrey Dahmer). Matthew Bright the Director includes some real-life footage of the twisted Bundy that adds more realism to the movie.
I commend Bright for his Directors commentary as it displays he has conducted in depth research on one of the most manipulative men of the 20th century.
The film gives you an insight into your own psychology, so it is a must for those who are interested in human nature as well as true crime.
This is well worth watching
