As the last reviewer, I saw loads of bad reviews about the Nyco Intercooler, so I took a chance with this 1.

This unit extracts an unbelievable amount of air out of the xbox 360 console, and does cool the unit down considerably.
As with the Nyko system, it plugs into the back of the 360`s power inlet, and you can set the unit to Auto or Manual. On Auto the unit relies on a thermostatic control to switch itself on/off, which is quite handy.

I myself was worried about system crashes, due to the high temp. that the 360 runs at whilst in play, but as I said, my Xbox has cooled down loads since using this gadget.

Using the fan does add a little noise to the 360 when running but it is very minimal, and I would rather have a little noise instead of a load of fried chips.

Overall, I would recommend this item to any 360 owner worried about the temperature that their console is running at.

After seeing that some systems had overheating problems aswell as having freezing problems on hot days i decided to buy the NYKO intercooler as it had just been released and was recieving good reviews and all i can say now is DONT BUY THE NYKO!
Many people have had problems with it as the 3 fans seem to interupt with the internal 2 fans rather than helping them because they dont line up creating (in my opinion) an unstable airflow, plus ther have been reports of them sparking and burning your 360s power socket and creating the red ring.

I replaced my NYKO because most of the time when i powered up my 360 the cooler would make a very loud groaning sound like the fans were rumbling or failing, which made me have to keep turning it on and off until it sounded acceptable.

Which leads me on to this little beauty!
This cheaper and much less known cooler has 2 fans that are perfectly in line with the internal fans which pulls out heat really effectively, the fans are are also larger than the tiny ones in the nyko yet this cooler is both quieter AND has an automatic switch which will adjust the fans speeds depending on your 360s internal heat!

If your looking for a cooler then please take my advice and buy this one you won't regret it!

After reading multiple reviews of people experiencing overheating problems with the xbox 360 I found the need to purchase an external cooling fan to go with my system as I did not want the same thing to happen to me.

When I looked on amazon to purchase a fan I did not purchase either of the other 2 more expensive fans as one, I could not afford it at the time and two, a lot of people were giving them bad reviews.

I took a gamble and purchased this item and I have to say that I can't fault it. It does cool the system down considerably and also the discs feel are a lot cooler when taken out of the console. The only fault I have with the item is that it can be a little noisy. My friend also has one on his system and neither of us have had any problems to date.
