Fantastic! 23 Aug 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase
What a great product. The first thing that struck me is how small it is. I am sure that it looks larger in the photo!

Instructions are brief - but what more can you say? There are just 5 controls:

Next Freq
Prev Freq
Next Track
Prev Track
Play / Pause

Undocumented: Long presses on the track buttons give volume control, whilst the play button toggles shuffle mode. This last one is crucial!

Yes you can plug you mp3 player in the side [make sure you turn the volume up] but the key feature for me is the USB port. Plug your pen drive [2GB works ok] in and it logs all the mp3 / wma files and off you go, playing track 001 / 320 or whatever.(What happens if you have 1000 files?)

During USB playback the display (2cm2. Blue. Very clear) shows elapsed time, FM frequency and file name, which constantly scrolls.

Navigation by album is not possible, but upon reflection, if I am driving at 70mph or through town, I am not sure if I want to be peering at my cigarette lighter trying to find my favourite album. Before buying I did email TeckNet about this, and within a few hours they confirmed it was not possible, which did at least give me some confidence in the company.

Next I was struck by the quality of the sound transmitted. Driving along and playing from USB, it is almost CD quality. Only with the engine off was I aware of some hiss on quieter sections of music.

You are going to want to use a short USB drive. Look out for the Kingston DataTraveller Mini. It is 3 cm long including the plug and is ideal for this duty.

Superb Product 15 Dec 2007
Absolutely fantastic product and superb service from Tecknet. Does even more than it says on the box. I received the latest version that has 206 FM channels, various eq settings, and even a small remote.
Very good quality sound quality and strong signal output.
Works fine with 2gb card, even though I found some spec that appeared to max out at 1gb.
Only slight criticism, if you need to keep your files in a specific order (audio book for example) make sure you copy the files over in the correct order. It appears to play them in the order copied, and I don't think it sorts the files by name. If I am wrong, please point me in the right direction.

19/12/07 Done a bit more investigtion of the file order. If it's any help, this is what I have been doing to get files in the required sequence (with Windows).
If you do a file Search on the contents of the SD card, it will show you the sequence of the files stored.
If they are not in ascending order then:-
1 Explore folder and sort files into ascending order.
2 Select all the files within the folder and move them to another temporary folder, also on the SD card.
3 Select all the files within the temporary folder and move them back to their correct folder.
Couple of seconds work.

Cracking device 13 Aug 2007
Superb device, great sound quality. The only thing I found was that the traffic program had to be de selected before it would work in my car.

Otherwise brill.

Perfect
Wow - small and does what it says on the tin. If it had the ability to view folders it would have been out of this world - but for the price, I am not complaining.
