I can confirm that this charger works with the 2G iPod Touch. You'll probably find that this is the best value charger currently (30/04/08) on Amazon that does.
Written on the charger is that it is 150 mA not 500mA as advertised. Not sure who is right but can say that it took 1 hour to charge fully from just less than 50% battery.

This item is said to work with the ipod touch 2G.
Guess what. It Doesn't. I pluged it in to my ipod and waited for the charge sign to appear but all I got was a black screen and a pop as the fuse in the charger went. I'm not impressed! =[
