Brilliant for textiles students and those who are simply curious. There is enough detail for those interested in the technical aspects as well as for those interested in design. A good balance of images to text so it is easy to read and pleasant on the eye. Overall a really good buy.

This book is not cheap which is why it was given as a present to a student studying textiles at one of the major London art colleges.

She said it was fantastic, edgy, and gave her lots of ideas about new things to try out. And who am I to disagree?

An exciting pick for any designer or artist working in fabrics 22 May 2006
By Midwest Book Review - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
TECHNO TEXTILES: REVOLUTIONARY FABRICS FOR FASHION AND DESIGN will prove an exciting pick for any designer or artist working in fabrics. Here are features of new textiles developed from carbon, steel and even glass: materials which protect wearers from the environment or offer new versatility traditional fabrics can't match. Accompanying color photos of fabrics in use are discussions of changing trends in fabric construction, design and style - an outstanding display of images in a top-rated title juxtaposing art and functional style. Very highly recommended.
