Product Description

Review

No one is better equipped to write such a book than the two Davids Clutterbuck and Megginson. Their detailed and meticulous work will serve as an invaluable resource for many coaches. Many of them may already be naturally using a combination of the techniques offered, but they way this book reinforces and contextualises them will help to consolidate the best practices currently deployed. The many case studies to which the authors refer well illustrate the techniques in application. I particularly welcomed the prominence given to Relationship (Chapter 1) and to Self-Knowledge (Chapter 4) the basis and the essence of good coaching and mentoring.

John Whitmore, Author of Coaching for Performance and voted Britain's top Business coach in the Independent.

Davids Clutterbuck and Megginson are well known for their contribution to the field of coaching and mentoring. This book is a highly practical contribution for all coaches and mentors who want to increase their range of techniques. More than a simple laundry list of ideas, this book exemplifies the authors' thoughtful and humanistic approach to learning and development, and places the use of techniques in an effective context. 4.0 out of 5 stars ...skills UPgrade, 24 Mar 2010
This review is from: Techniques for Coaching and Mentoring (Paperback)
Thoroughly enjoy this book. This book can definitely be used as a reference document- you will be able to refine and upgrade your skills on a constant basis. It has a great many practical examples and explanations of how to apply each technique. It provides you with accurate chapter headings to quickly locate specific skillsets and then explains the arena in which they can be used. The book incorporates many methods from varied fields i.e. NLP, psychology, counselling and so your 'skills vocabulary' expands considerably. As the methods given are processes, I have used them successfully with young people and adults alike.
