4.0 out of 5 stars Very decent noise cancellation 27 May 2011
Verified Purchase
I've been using this headset for about a month at the time of writing, and they really are good. They don't cancel out quite as much noise as the Bose QuietPoint 3, but for the price it presents a way better deal. The cushions are very soft and mold quite well to the ears without feeling much pressure. I can easily wear these for several hours. Since the cushions mold to the ears, they do feel a bit warm after a while so that could perhaps be of some discomfort if using these in high temp climates, but very nice when it's cold outside.

The headset folds quite well without the construction feeling flimsy. There aren't any cushions on the headband, so if you don't have hair that might be something to think about. These headphones are lightweight, and the compartment that holds the on-off switch, battery and the noise cancelling circuitry is also lightweight. The placement of the compartment on the cord keeps it quite close to my mp3-player, and long enough for a person of 5'11" to keep in the trouser pocket, if you don't want to use the clip-on to fasten it to your shirt or something. The battery life is truly excellent, after a month of using the noise cancellation for maybe 2-3 hours a day I'm still using the battery that came with the headset!

The noise cancellation works even if you're not using a music source, and you can use the headset without the noise cancellation as well, which is to be expected but not always found on comparable noise cancelling headsets. All in all, one of my best purchases this year.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great product 25 Dec 2010
Bought these headphones as a christmas present for myself and have used it on a number of occasions both in quiet and very noisy environments (in-flight,house full of noisy toddlers). I am very impressed with the noise canceling abilities leaving a beautifully balanced sound to enjoy. With little hair on top I would have appreciated a bit more padding but nevertheless: Great value for the price.

4.0 out of 5 stars Value for money is excellent 12 April 2012
Verified Purchase
I did a lot of research before purchasing a set of noise-cancelling headphones (goes to show these reviews do make a difference!)

I have to say, I am very impressed the the quality of these headphones and the ability to provide good noise-cancelling abilities as well as portability.
Apart from that, it comes with an airplane socket and battery life tends to be a few days if left on.

For the price point, I think they are excellent - but I do sometimes fear for my 'phones as the provided carrying case is a light flexible rubber, and wouldn't protect them at all. They fold inwards nicely to save space (perfect for travellers such as myself) - but a hard /rigid case would make me feel a lot less nervous!

5.0 out of 5 stars They make a big difference 17 Mar 2013
Verified Purchase
They're not the cheapest and nowhere near the most expensive so my expectations were modest. In the event I'm very happy with my purchase. First off I found them comfortable for an entire 10 hour flight. Secondly, the noise cancelling works far better than I expected and reduced the aircraft noise significantly and worked well on coach travel too. You can hear people if you need to but also tune them out if they are chattering incessantly! Music and film dialogue rendition is very good. The folding design is very useful when touring and in the pouch seems reasonably well protected.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Value 22 Oct 2011
Verified Purchase
I recently used them on a UK to Australia flight and they worked well for the money. They didn't mask all of the engine noise but they made a noticeable difference - around 80% if I had to estimate. All in all they're well worth the price though I have never tested more expensive headphones against them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good headphones 5 April 2012
By Benjy
Good sound quality for closed back headphones and works very well to cancel out the noise of airplane engines so you can escape the cabin and drift off into your own little world. Especially good for people with fear of flying or anxiety disorders. I listened to a meditation audiobook the whole flight and the phones are so comfortable. Good buy of the price and quality of accessories.

Overall, I am quite happy with the purchase. I use the headphones practically everyday when I commute to work. The noice-cancelling works like a charm and even the most noisy train carriage magically becomes silent when you switch the amp on. Battery consumption is not too bad: 1 lasts roughly a month. Sound quality is good, too.
The only downside: they feel a bit 'light weight' and fragile...but I guess this is the way they wanted them to be, as they are on-ear headphones.

These worked really well on the plane and allowed me to watch a film on my tablet without noise from the engine. In fact my partner says they are better than the ones he paid eighty pounds for!

It doesn't compare with the Bose QC - but, then, neither does the price. Good enough to listen to movies on plane and keep out the aircraft noise.

Cheap and very good alternative to other more expensive noice cancelling headphones. They can be used without batteries, good for frequent flyers.
