Needs more to fill in gaps
on 28 May 2013
The album has potential but the boasting return of 13 tracks fell short when it was revealed four of them was short instrumental interludes. It has the same heart-wrenching emotional pain as their sixth studio album Venus Doom but the same upbeat tunes as its predecessor Screamworks. The majority of the tracks on the album don't have enough unique moments to easily tell when one finishes and one begins, the exceptions being "I Will Be the End of You" and "W.L.S.T.D" which hold their own, mainly because lead singer Ville Valo decides to change pitch. Maybe if the instrumentals were replaced with different tracks with their own unique quality it could have broken up the album into sounding more interesting and engaging. I listened to this album and was disappointed when it finished because it only seemed like I had listened to four tracks.
