In the year 2307 the comet Myhu passed Earth and within days the population of the planet rapidly diminished; killed by the great storms of acid rain falling in the comet's wake. Although many died, a few found themselves blessed by this rain; discovering themselves able to wield powers of the mind. Known as the Children of Myhu, these and other none gifted members of their society known as the Awakened thrived alongside the Order; a central ruling government established to rebuild society. Unfortunately the regime altered for the worst under the rulership of a new leader. Emperor Pienu began to use the Order for his own purposes, intent that every person adheres to the role assigned to them; living only to perform their designated function. Protesting this future, the Awakened were gathered into camps across North America. Segregated from members of the Order and continuing with a freer existence, these two societies successfully stayed away from each other until an Awakened betrayed his own kind. Learning that they disregarded his rules enraged the Emperor and in retaliation he sent the army of the Order to the Awakened camps; commanding them to leave none alive.
A decade later Daniel Barrows is still haunted by dreams of his tribal life; snatched away when the Order slaughtered his entire camp. Adopted by General Barrows, his loyalty to the Order is obvious to all; however he still dreams of his childhood friend Emi'le, a young girl sacrificed by their tribal elder in the hopes of overcoming the Order. Yet despite his medication and devotion to duty Daniel is unable to stop himself assisting in the escape of a wanted felon; an Awakened bearing the same tribal marking he himself has. Suddenly forced to make a decision whether to accept his function in life or let his feelings for the beautiful mute Nya dictate his actions, Daniel is soon back in folds of the tribes and using his knowledge of the Order to help their fight.
This is a great futuristic romance as Nya and Daniel battle for their peoples' freedom against the superior forces of the Order, whilst in turn passionately affirming their love for each other. "Tears of Myhu"; although a futuristic love story, is not your standard space romp featuring exotic weapons and weird aliens, but rather a battle against a stark existence without love, joy or celebration (with plenty of hot sex included). Until his return to the tribes, it is believed that Nya is the last Child of Myhu with psychic ability; however free from his drug and brainwashing regime, Daniel too finds himself with a useful skill. Yet burdened by prophetic dreams, Nya remains mute; unable and unwilling to reveal what she has foreseen to her new husband.
